Famagusta Marathon – Registration Changes & Cancellations Policy

The registered runner has the ability to modify their registration details or make changes to them through their Account, or by sending an email request to one of the following addresses:

It is noted that only the person who has submitted and paid for the registration is allowed to make the desired changes.

In case of Group Registration, the request must be sent by the Group Manager to groups@famagustamarathon.com.

Email Requests – Important

When sending an email request, the subject line must include the category title matching the change you wish to make, according to the list below:

1. Correction of Runners’ Basic Data

• Refers to a runner’s identification details (name, date of birth, nationality, contact information).

• Does not include entry name changes or runner replacement.

2. Correction / Add Finish Time

• Possible only until October 1st, with a €5.00 penalty fee.

• After this date, case #8 “Change of Starting Block” applies.

• Include: exact finish time (hh:mm:ss), event name, and year.

• Only finish times from the last three years (2023–2025) in certified races are considered.

• Marathon participants can only submit Marathon or Half Marathon times;
  10km or 5km participants can submit Half Marathon, 10km, or 5km times.

• Times are verified; inaccurate or non-compliant requests are denied.

3. Placement with a Co-Athlete

• Possible only until October 1st, with a €5.00 penalty fee.

• Both runners must send requests; otherwise, it will not be processed.

• Runners are placed in the slower runner’s block.

• For more than one person, the same process applies for each.

• Group requests must be sent by the Group Manager.

4. Change T-Shirt Size

• Mention the new size requested.

• Accepted until October xxth, subject to availability.

5. Change Registration Level

• Accepted until October xxth, subject to availability.

• Upgrade: pay the difference between levels.

• Downgrade: choose to donate the fee difference to an event-partner NGO or request a refund (minus €10 handling fee).

• Group requests by Group Manager only.

6. Change Race/Distance

• Possible until October 1st, with a €5.00 fee.

• After October 1st, changes possible until October xxth (subject to availability) with the same fee.

• Upgrading to longer distance: pay difference + €5 fee.

• Downgrading to shorter distance: €5 fee applies, no refund given.

• Group changes via Group Manager.

7. Name Change / Runner Replacement

• Allowed until October xxth, with a €5.00 fee.

• Request must come from the original runner and include all details of the new runner.

• After October 1st, the new runner is placed in the same starting block as the original unless case #8 applies.

• Group replacements via Group Manager.

8. Change of Starting Block

• Only possible with Organizing Committee approval after start lists are announced and until October 25th.

• Fee: €5.00.

• To move to a faster block, provide certified race proof from the last 3 years (2023–2025).

• Placement is subject to block availability and reasonable limits based on performance.

9. Cancellation of Registration

• Possible strictly until September 25th, 2026.

• Email: cancellations@famagustamarathon.com

• Refunds: Registration fee refunded minus handling fees.

• NGO donations are non-refundable.

10. Duplicate Registration

• Multiple registrations in the same race by the same runner are forbidden.

• If this occurs, the runner must state which entry remains active; otherwise, the first one remains and others are canceled as per the cancellation policy.

Note:

• Standard penalty fee for changes: €5.00 (handling fee).

• All requests are reviewed for eligibility and availability.

• Deadlines are strict; no changes after cut-off dates — including at the Runner’s Center & Expo.
