What does the registration fee include?
Your registration includes:

Can I transfer my registration to another person?
No, transferring your registration to another person is not allowed.
Can I transfer my registration to another year?
If, for any reason, you cannot participate, you may transfer your registration to the following year’s event.
Transfer requests must be submitted via email no later than one month before race day to: info@famagusta.run
Can I get a refund if I can’t participate?
Registration fees are non-refundable.
If you are unable to participate, you may transfer your registration to the following year’s event, by emailing your request at least one month before the race to: info@famagusta.run
Can I change my race distance or category?
Yes. If you're no longer able to complete the distance you originally registered for, you may switch to a shorter race. Conversely, you may upgrade to a longer distance by paying the difference in registration fees.

Is the Famagusta Marathon linked to a charitable cause?
The registration fee covers the essential costs for organizing the event.
However, the organizing team actively collaborates with local, national, and international charitable organizations, supporting their missions through the Famagusta Marathon.
What time does each race start?
Exact starting times and starting points for each race will be announced soon in the detailed event schedule, available on the official website.
All races will take place on Sunday, October 11, 2026.
Runners are advised to arrive at the event venue at least one hour before their start time, to allow sufficient time for:
- Bag drop at the designated area
- Warm-up
- Use of facilities (toilets, etc.)
Where is the start and finish line located?
The start and finish for all races of the Famagusta Marathon are located at the iconic Fig Tree Bay, in Protaras — one of the most renowned landmarks of the region, overlooking the crystal-clear coastline of the Famagusta district.
What are the age limits for each race?
- 30km: 18 years and older (on race day)
- 10km: 15 years and older
- 5km & Corporate 5km Race: 12 years and older
- 1km Kids Race: For children aged 6 to 12
Children under the age of 6 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Registration for the accompanying adult is €10.
What is the elevation profile of the course?
The Famagusta Marathon routes run along the coast and have minimal elevation changes, making them ideal for fast times and accessible to runners of all levels.

Are the race routes certified or officially measured?
Yes. All Famagusta Marathon routes are officially measured by a certified course measurer, in accordance with World Athletics standards and the “Competition Rules.”
The course measurement and marking ensure distance accuracy and the validity of results for all participants.
How can a team collect its BIB numbers?
The team leader can collect all BIB numbers for their group from the Runners' Service Center, on the dates to be announced prior to race day.
For teams based outside the Famagusta district, BIB numbers can be shipped via courier (Pick-Up Point), provided this option was selected during registration.
What is the deadline for team registrations?
The deadline to complete the registration for all team members is 10 days before the race (October 1, 2026).
For corporate teams opting for BIB number delivery via courier (Pick-Up Point), all registrations must be finalized at least 10 days before race day to ensure timely delivery.
Are there start blocks for corporate teams?
Yes. To avoid overcrowding and ensure the best experience for all participants, corporate teams will be assigned to designated start blocks.
Detailed information about starting blocks and team entry zones will be shared via email a few days before the event.
When and where can I collect my race pack?
You can collect your race pack from our Registration Center during the week leading up to the race.
The exact days and operating hours will be announced [here].
If you selected courier delivery (Pick-Up Point) during registration, your pack will be sent to your preferred pickup location.
Can someone else collect my race pack on my behalf?
Yes. A third party may collect your race envelope by presenting your confirmation email and a copy or photo of your ID.
Can my race pack be delivered to my home?
No, home delivery is not available.
However, you may choose the courier delivery option (Pick-Up Point) during registration to collect your race materials from the nearest participating courier location.
When and where can I collect the products I purchased during registration?
Any products you purchased during registration will be available for collection at the Runners' Service Center in Protaras.
Exact dates and times will be announced on the official website, social media channels, and via email to all participants.
Where can I park on race day?
Designated parking areas will be available near Fig Tree Bay.
A map with detailed parking instructions will be published prior to the event.
Will there be medical stations along the course?
Yes. Multiple medical stations and ambulances will be positioned along all race routes and at the finish area, in accordance with international safety standards.
It is very important that you fill out the required medical information on the back of your BIB Number, including:
- Blood type
- Any known allergies
- Medications
- Emergency contact number
These details may prove vital in case of an emergency.
What should I do if I feel unwell during the race?
If you feel unwell at any point, slow down immediately, stop at a safe location, and seek help from the nearest medical staff or volunteer.
First-aid teams and medical personnel will be available along the entire course to assist you.
Your safety is a top priority for the organizers.
Do I need to provide a medical certificate before the race?
No, a medical certificate is not required to participate.
However, we strongly recommend that you ensure you are in good physical and medical condition before taking part, in consultation with your personal doctor.

What time should I arrive at the venue on race day?
All runners are advised to arrive at the race venue at least one hour before their scheduled start time.
This will give you enough time to:
- Store your personal belongings at the baggage area
- Complete a proper warm-up
- Use the available restroom facilities
- Arrive on time at the start zone
Will there be pacers on the course?
Yes. For the 30km race, a team of experienced Pacers will be available to help you maintain a steady pace and achieve your personal goal.
Pacers will be easily identifiable, carrying visible flags with their target time/pace.

Will my race be timed?
Yes. Electronic timing will be provided by a professional timing company for all individual races, except for the 1km Kids Race.
All runners must wear their BIB Number properly throughout the race, as it contains the built-in timing chip.
Failure to wear the BIB correctly may result in your race not being timed.
Is there a time limit for the 30km race?
Yes. The official time limit for the 30km race is 4 hours.
Participants who finish within this limit:
- Will receive a finisher’s medal
- Will be included in the official results
Those who continue beyond 5 hours do so at their own responsibility.
After the 5-hour limit, the Police will gradually reopen the roads to traffic, and organizational support (aid stations, medical teams, volunteers, etc.) will cease operations.
What happens if I don’t finish within the official time limit?
All roads must be returned to regular traffic based on a strict schedule.
Participants continuing after the official cut-off must run/walk on the sidewalk, and do so at their own risk, without support services such as safety, medical assistance, or hydration.
Will there be baggage drop-off services?
Yes. A dedicated baggage area will be available near the start/finish line for participants to drop off and store personal items.
Detailed instructions will be included in the Race Guide, which will be sent to you via email and published on the official website a few weeks before the event.
How frequent are the aid stations?
Aid stations will be available starting from the 5th kilometer, and then approximately every 2.5 to 3 kilometers along all race routes.
They will offer:
- Water
- Electrolytes
- Soft drinks
- Fruits
- Access to toilets

Will energy gels or snacks be provided?
Yes. Energy gels and bananas will be available at selected aid stations along the route.

Can I participate with a stroller or pet?
No. Participation with a stroller or pet is strictly prohibited, for the safety of both runners and spectators.
Can I participate with a wheelchair?
Yes. Non-competitive wheelchair users are welcome to participate in all races.
However, please note:
- No special elite wheelchair racing categories are available at this time
- Motorized (electric) wheelchairs are not allowed
- Participation is under the general runner category and must follow all event safety guidelines
What happens in case of bad weather?
In the event of severe weather conditions, the organizers will issue an official announcement with instructions and updates regarding any delays, modifications, or postponement of the event, if deemed necessary.
However, in most cases, the race will proceed as planned — even in light rain or cloudy weather.
What should I do in case of a medical emergency?
In case of a medical emergency, immediately inform:
- The medical personnel stationed along the route, or
- The nearest volunteer, who will activate the emergency response protocol.
Ambulances and medical teams will be positioned strategically throughout the course, including at the start and finish areas, ready to provide immediate assistance.
How can I contact event staff in a non-medical emergency?
An Information Desk will be operating near the finish line on race day. You can go there for any of the following:
- Lost and found
- General inquiries
- Procedural assistance
- Other non-medical issues
Event staff will be available on-site to assist you promptly.

Where can I collect my finisher medal?
Right after crossing the finish line, you can collect your commemorative medal from the designated medal stations.
Will changing rooms be available?
Yes. The exact location of the changing facilities will be indicated on the venue maps published on the official website.
Will there be prizes and awards?
Yes. All participants who finish within the official time limit will receive a commemorative medal and a participation certificate. The top three male and female finishers in each race will be awarded honorary trophies. No cash prizes will be awarded.
How can I check my results?
Unofficial results will be published shortly after the race on the official website and social media. Objections may be submitted within five (5) calendar days of the unofficial results being posted. Official and certified results will be announced within ten (10) working days after the race.
What is the difference between chip time and gun time?
- Gun Time: The official race time measured from the moment the starting gun is fired until the runner crosses the finish line, regardless of their individual start.
- Chip Time (Net Time): The runner’s personal time, measured from when they actually cross the start line to when they cross the finish line, based on the timing chip in their BIB.
Chip time is mainly used for personal records and age group rankings, while gun time is used for official placement and awards.
What are unofficial results, and how can I file a protest?
Unofficial results are provisional and subject to corrections or updates. If you notice an error or wish to file a protest, you may do so within five (5) calendar days of the results being posted. To submit a protest, please email: info@famagustamarathon.com
Where can I find my race photos?
A link to search for and download your personal race photos will be posted on the official website and social media a few days after the event.
How can I download my certificate with my finish time and age group ranking?
Once the official results are published, you will be able to download your certificate — including your finish time and age group ranking — directly from the website.
Are there awards for age group categories?
No. Trophies and award ceremonies are held only for the top three male and female finishers overall in each race, and in the Corporate Race. Age group finishers will receive a digital certificate with their placement, once the official results are published.
